What if I...?
Never a strong suit was communication with others.
The fear of social interaction and its consequences was as strong as the bond between brothers.
The first step is the most important step as they say.
And to do that I had to make a decision one fateful day.
Asked to go to a dance, I blushed.
Saying yes, almost absent-mindedly, my heart felt an overwhelming rush.
Despite being outwardly silent in expression,
I had feelings for the one that asked me; this is a true confession.
Although that experience went by fast,
it was a wonderful moment that I now wish had sooner come to pass.
Inspired by the course of events,
no longer did fear of socializing prevent the sharing of my two cents.
By taking the first step, an opportunity, and a chance on risking my fear turning into reality
The understanding that many before me have found was revealed to me.
That life, stagnant as it is in one moment, is not what it can be the next.
