What is innocence?

Sticks and Stones may break my bones But words will never Hurt me. Rhymes we are taught as kids to form us into better Human Beings. Stories with moral endings told to guide us onto the right path. Tales that are forced to teach us how to be good and happy. Retain their innocence. 4th grade, 5th grade Create mock debates- learn about opposition Lose a little innocence 6th, 7th, 8th grade Learn about the structure of society and reoccurring issues Lose some more innocence 9th, 10th, 11th grade Learn about the history of the world. Shown slavery, injustice, cruelty. Innocence near depletion 12th grade College, work, money. Where is your future? Harsh reality of your dreams. It is not So easy. Where is the help? Innocence is gone. Congratulations you are an adult. Go through life now since you know how it actually works by yourself. Sorry, but you should be strong enough to do this On your own. You are not innocent anymore. Innocence, What is innocence but another word for arrogance. What is innocence but a way to hide the facts, the truth Innocence, it is not something with a time limit or that can be given and taken so quickly You want innocence?! Well hear it is, Innocence, real innocence, Is the one who becomes the puppet to someone’s master plan The one that is pushed down with no way of getting back up The one who cannot even step outside without the burden of heavy eyes The one who the finger is pointed to while no one considers who is pointing the finger The scapegoat, the outcast, the target…… BULLS EYE! Innocence, real innocence Innocent people are taken every day.
