What It Felt Like

Skimming through these halls Walking down them. Never did I wonder What it felt like…. Safe? Happy? Maybe A haven…. But what if You have To leave The haven? The safe place? The pain, The insecurity Of leaving a place where you Truly Belonged? No. A place where you TRULY BELONG. I tried and tried To procrastinate my departure. But no Such Luck. All it ever did Was fool me to believe In denying The inevitable. All the work put in, all the joy experienced, For a time, To let go of this haven like a Mere Visiting place? To come? Skimming through these halls Walking down them. And now I know What it feels like…. Safe? Happy? Yes. HOME.
