What It Really Is

"Well, son, I’ll tell you:  for me ain’t been no crystal stair". Spoken from one of the greats, Langston Hughes. This poem has motivated me since the day I'd  first read it. I pondered how words could possibly be placed in such a way that would evoke emotion. From there I explored. No two poems is in any way the same. Each individual piece having its own personality. Each having its own story to tell. Uniquely it's a reflection of its author. A language That's what poetry is . Like dance or music that expresses its topic with fluid grace, poetry uses words. Words to tell a story Words to show feeling.
