What it's like to Expect the Worst
What it’s like to expect the worst, all the time
First of all, it’s not like I never have happy moments
Not like, how I woke up and just decided it would be a horrible day
I want it to be a good day
But then it comes to the moment of truth
Where I go in and stop without knowing
how far there is left to go
And when I see the outcome,
I’m the Blacksheep out of all those
crystal white wool
Suppose to be sad at how it turned out
But I’m not sad,
I am not sad or disappointed.
It’s just nothing,
and that becomes ordinary,
every day,
my routine
Some people joke around like I’m that pessimistic character in
all of those tv-shows
Eeyore from the Winnie the Pooh
The one who makes it sad,
the one who is secretly happy,
the one who losses their way or more literally their things
Yet I don’t find it funny,
it’s not a joke,
I’m not laughing
So I am sorry I make it sad,
sorry that I expect something to happen
all my friends and family to not
“always be together forever”
cause it won’t be forever and it could happen in a split moment
I am sorry that I might be secretly happy
that I am enjoying the small time we will be together
To savor every moment I get to be alive
And to try and stay away from all the Heffalumps
And I am sorry,
that I try to not be like this
and try a different path in the Hundred Acre Woods
But I lose my way,
just going right back to where I started
Having nowhere else to go than where I have been
To expect the worst and never the good
