What I've Become

It all started with a crazy Valentine night.

Nine months later came me.

I already had a brother

Why did my parents do this?

One year later they walk the aisle

I’m the happy flower girl

The cutest of all

Will I ever understand?

Skip ahead eight more years

I’ve found out about boys

They have desires

How can I fulfill them?

Add five years, I’m fourteen

School is hard and I have pain

Crazy thoughts cross my mind

Will I make it through?

Two years later I’m caught in turmoil

Sixteen year old me knows too much

Too many discoveries leading to disgust

How do I get out?

Beginning of 2015, I’ve found another way

Jesus really does save

Out of the dark and into the light

Is this real life?

Present day senior

Jesus is my savior

Blessed beyond measure

Where do I go from here?

Future me, married after college

Raising my family

Full time nurse

How could it get better?

When that day comes

At peace in the grave

Knowing where my eternity lies

Have I been more than my parents were?
