What I've Become

I am a blank slate

Adults around me are

there to shape me

To mold my very being

To bring forth the power of a mind

Their words hold impact

Their knowledge behind comphrehension

I am a blank slate

of endless possibilty

I am rebellious

Words do not reach my ears

as they did in the past

I believe myself smarter

and more wise than what is true

I often refuse to listen to them

They fuss and yell for me to listen

I will not

I am rebellious

And soon to come to a realization

I am no longer blank

I am older, wise, more knowledgable

My ambition is something to be admired

and my goals feared by small minded people

Nothing will stand in my way

I rejoice in hearing the voices

of those beyond my time

To bath in their wisdom

and the power of their words

I am not blank

I am vast, colorful, and driven
