What I've Been and Become

I Once Was...

A boy in the world of men

A man struggling to find himself

desperate to be a hero,

desperate to be saved.

In my desire to rule the world,

In my dreams of success

I lost myself, my focus.

I lost my goodness.

But found again is my heart,

destructive no more are my aspirations

I only hope to offer others

the opportunities I squandered.

I will fight, fight, fight the injustices of the world.

I will not let fade the light of the oppressed.

Feed will I their dwindling fire, igniting change

Praying more will see their lights in the darkness

I am…

The catalyst of change.
