What I've learned to live without
She was like the sun,
Although I couldn't always see her,
She was always there.
We never failed to have fun.
I never thought I'd ever be without her.
It just wasn't fair.
Cancer isn't something from which you can run.
But from this, something important I'd learn.
My mother was something rare.
I keep our memories on rerun.
Everyone has their turn.
The burden was heavy to bear;
But my mother was something,
I had to learn to live without.
