What Lies Beneath
I am human.
emotions fill my head
happiness, hope, regret, dread
I hide inside, behind my walls
A prisoner of the bonds of society,
afraid to show them me.
A lost child, alone in the dark
looking for someone who understands my heart.
A beautiful bird that no one sees
but would fly if only it were set free
thinking, dreaming, caring, fearing
I am human.
