What Lies Beneath the Surface

I am more than just a filter

More than what's behind the computer

behind the lightening effects of my skin

lies a girl wanting to fit in

My words aren't heard in the scene

for silence is the most powerful scream

the makeup, the lighting, and the likes

are more than what meets the eye

all is uncovered at night

when I turn on the light

my skin is darker than my photos show

my true thoughts exposed

will they ever see?

will they ever know the real me?

I love poetry and I also enjoy singing, acting, and dancing! one day I hope to become a yoga instructor or a personal trainer!
