"a characteristic that distinguishes objects that have signaling and self-sustaining processes from those that do not"

In truth, life is defined by the individual

Life is love

Life is hate

Life is action

Life is peace

Life is survival

Life is death

All in all, Life is beyond human understanding

Life is purely existence
