What is Life...?

What is Life…?

What is life?

The whisper of the wind through the trees?

What keeps people praying on their knees?

What keeps me going, remembering moments like these?

What is life?

The first love you have that is taken away

The comforting of your mother, keeping monsters at bay

The words left unspoken you never had the chance to say…

What is life?

The tears in your eyes as you leave one last time

Looking back at everything you left behind

And thinking to yourself: he will never be mine…

What is life?

The thoughts in your head that drive you mad

The complications you face that only leave you sad

As you struggle to remember the good from the bad

Such is life.

The sadness, it lingers

The hope, it simmers

The love, it dies

The hate, it glimmers

The hurt, it shines

The smiles, they fade

And after all this time

My life’s gone away.
