What is love

Arms around my hips

Lips pressed to my lips

sweet words that filled my head

"I love you" is what he said

Finally I found it, love at last

But feelings passed

We moved to fast

It flew away like a big white dove

But what can I say, I guess this is love.

Laying alone, I can still feel him breathe

But crumpled sheets is all that he leaves

Taking Hot showers, my skin burning red

But all I can think of was the feel of the bed

Or the weight of his head

The way it lay heavy on my chest

I say "do you really love me"

His response is "yes"

Who am I to question this gift from above?

When everyone told me it was certainly love.

No one knew of the nights spent alone

Or all the times, he wouldn't call, to say he won't be home

The arguments that led to fights

All the times I cried myself to sleep at night

What can I say, what could I do

When those three little words kept me trapped

"I love you"

It was a game of "how much can you take?"

It was the challenge of "I will make you break"

Man you were great....

Those sweet words slither in my mind like a snake

I let you in

Again and again

Thinking things would change

I gave my all

You let me fall

Now its time to rearrange

You see I somehow forgot, I am not alone

I forgot that I make my own home

I somehow forgot I'm a gift from above

Im sorry I forgot.....

Wait.......

What really is love?
