What Is Love?
What is love?
Baby don't hurt me-just kidding!
Love is sweet
Love is painful; gotta love those breakups!
It's totally not you.. what a load of bull.
Love is.. putting others before yourself
Love is caring about someone so much
that you're willing to do anything for them.
Love is taking care of someone,
even when they're being difficult.
Even when you're about to give up,
you stick with them because when you look into their eyes,
you remember why you fell for them in the first place.
When they smile, it lights up your entire universe
and you can't help but to smile back.
Love is wanting to protect them with your life
And doing everything in your power to make sure that they never go to bed upset or angry.
Love is not 'Netflix and chill'
Love is not purely physical bullshit.
I didn't mention any name,
but now you're thinking of them.
How they always seem to know when you're sad
or mad
or stressed
or anxious
or when you just need to get the hell away from everyone else in the world
and all you want to do is fall into their safe embrace.
Because you know that once you breathe in their scent and feel their familiar body pressed against yours,
you'll feel safe, at peace,
Home, even.
That's what real love is.
That's what everyone wants;
what everyone deserves.
Love-real, true, pure love-is complete and total devotion to them,
regardless of gender, sexuality, race, religion or location.
Love is something they can never take away from us.
Love is sacred
Love is beautiful
Love is deeper than the ocean and more vast than the entirety of space,
and it begins and ends
with us.
