What is Love?

"What is love?" she asks me.

And who am I to tell her?

Who am I to explain to her

What each emotion is?

What each emotion means?

How each emotion feels?

"What is love?" I ask myself.

It's laughing at a private joke with your favorite person until your cheeks hurt and you're crying with happiness.

It's waking up next to the sounds of birds singing to one another, all the while laying next to your best friend.

It's trying to decipher all of the colors in their eyes and counting each eyelash until you lose track.

It's listening to your favorite song and thinking of them with every beautiful word that's sung.

It's peaceful evenings watching the sunset with their hand in yours.

"What is love?" she asks me again.

"It's everything I hope for you to have and more."
