What is Love?

What is Love?

The past me would have said,

I can't explain what love is,

Unless love is when he says he is there for you

then doesn’t answer til forever

when he says he cares for you

then tells you to quit your passions

when he says he has his eyes only on you

yet his eyes are wandering towards others

when he says he would never hurt you

but calls you every single name in the shame book just so he can break you

when he says he Loves you

and is the reason why all these walls are open and all these colors are blooming on your skin...

that is what Love was formed to mean to me

That was the young me,
the hurt me,
me who didn't know what the world held.
I've touched the darkness and been trapped in it for some years.
I've finally broke away from it and now
now I can tell you what "Love" means to me.

Love is everything.
It's the smile his messages put on my face in the morning
his cute, tired face when he calls me at night.
the warm feeling of knowing he will always be there
The butterflies that fill your tummy,
knowing that there is someone thinking of only you.
the longing when he is away,
and the joy when he is right by your side.
The support he needs is when I am his backbone.
The motivation we give each other to keep at the top.
When we have a minor setback,
we make sure to make a major comeback.
It is when I and You become us.
when he realizes I am not his opponent,
but his teammate.
When he makes me want to be better,
and I help him be greater.
He was the hope and light in my darkness,
I am the power and fight for him to continue.
The faith we have to endure to the end,
and the loyalty we have in each other.
He gots me, and I got him.

That isn't even the closest definition of what Love is

because it is too powerful to explain

but with him

it is the most beautiful thing to feel.
