Do I really know what love is

Age is just a number which is used

To tell people just how close you are to

I am 17 years old and I have not been in love

I once thought I loved a boy

A boy so perfect that he controlled my mind

My body

My feelings

My life

Is that really a healthy relationship you may ask

Some people might believe it is

And that is when it is your job to step in

They might think they are madly in love

But they are in love with the kissing in the hallways

It all happened my freshman year in High School

At the time I was just 14

I was young and dumb

I thought he was the one

The one I’d spend the rest of my life with

I wasted my whole freshman year

Because I was in fake love

I didn't attend any of the dances because of him

I was late to practices because of him

I lost friends because of him

Once summer came around he left me stranded

I was left with nobody

My heart felt empty

It was as if there was no point in life anymore

My past has shaped me to who I am today

I am a strong

Independent

Driven

Women that does not let fake love get in her way

Because of this fake love I have learned the difference of true love

A healthy relationship is respect

From the other person in which your own life comes first rather then your

Significant others life

We are all human

We all go through some horrible stuff

We have personal problems

And we have family problems

There are things your partner can not fix

Primarily because he is not you

And he does not know how your brain functions

We are different in so many ways which makes us

So individually perfect

When I say the words Because I Love You

It is the day I see my life with you forever

It is the day I pour my heart out to you

It is the day I can trust you with my life

And never question my future
