What Is Love?
Love is:
Patient, when the days don’t go your way.
Kind, when you need someone to lift you up.
Forgiving, of your mistakes and flaws.
Trusting, when you bare your soul.
Love it more than a feeling.
It’s a choice.
A decision to remember everyday why you tied your soul to them.
It’s messy.
A drawn-out fight between pride and trust, a sacrifice to show your truth.
It’s hard.
A tear-filled reunion after months apart. A stuttered apology for the harsh words.
Love is not commanding. Controlling. Obsessive. Casual. Weak. It's a battle cry for the ages.
Some wear armour to war.
I wear love.
