What Is Love?
Love.
What is love?
Just another hollow, meaningless word.
A word thrown around as often as the falling of a hair from the head.
A word spoken at the sight of one sexually appealing.
A word commented by every critic.
Love.
What is love?
The world does not know what love means.
Love is not a term to use when one simply likes something.
“I love this!” or “I love that!” are not mere words to express satisfaction!
Love is not to misplace our interpretation of “like.”
For when we love, we completely and utterly adore.
The world has overused and warped the word into a simple meaning of “liking.”
Love.
Oh, what is love!
The brush of his lips on hers.
The touch of his hand on her side.
The sight of her lying on the floor in an expanding, red puddle.
The glimpse of bruises hidden under her shirt.
The closing of the door as she fearfully comes home to him again.
No.
This is not love.
Love is not selfish, but selfless.
Love is not hatred, but compassion.
Love is not careless, but wholehearted.
Love is not me…...but you.
For when one loves another, he gives up himself entirely.
With love, you come second.
When you love someone, you will do anything and everything for that person.
Every thought about yourself is gone.
Your well-being doesn’t matter anymore.
And they will love you back.
They will put your needs in front of theirs.
They too will become selfless.
Love.
What is love?
Love is more than a word.
Love is emotion.
Love is action.
Love is heartfelt.
