What is love?

i love you is not giving and taking

but rather sharing

oneself

two wholes-

together.

i love you is not only wanting your best foot forward

but your worst as well

i love you takes a step backwards

when you're upset,

but doesn't leave you alone in the dark

i love you kisses your tear-stained cheek,

reminds you that nobody's perfect,

and promises you'll grow-

better together

i love you is not white table cloth dinners

over chilled white wine

it's not giving up on finding Self

to give you my time

i love you trusts that no man at the bar will take her home after drinks

and that a night of poker with the guys is exactly that

i love you disagrees that you've gained weight

and proceeds to kiss all the parts you claim are now too squishy

i love you ensures that there'll be no end to you and i

that we could take those words with us till the day we die

i love you is found through trial and error-

it's a journey of two wholes

that meet somewhere in the middle.
