What is Love?

Dear universe,

What is love

I'm not supposed to love you

Not yet at least

They think I'm crazy and that I've fallen to fast

They say I don't know what I really feel

They say my love for you is not real

But how can this not be love

How can you honestly tell me that it's not love

When he has become so important to me so fast

When my future doesn't matter if he's not there

How can I not love him when he captivates my every thought

How can it not be love when I used to never have dreams only nightmares but now every night I can rest easy as he fills my head with dreams of us and our future

How can it not be love when my nights of crying turned to mornings of laughter

How can it not be love when he's slowly become my moon and stars

How can it not be love when I'd do anything to see him smile

How can it not be love when I'd be willing to put everything on the line for him

How can it not be love when his wellbeing has become more important than my own

How can it not be love

Can you still say it's not love?

Even when you know he makes me happier than any one ever has

Even when he treats me like a real man treats a women

Even when he has slowly changed my life for the better

Even when he protects me from the wind

Even when he makes sure I'm eating

Even when he makes me smile without being able to stop

Even when he takes my breath away just by the way he looks at me

Even when he tickles me until I can't breath and I scold him for it but honestly I wouldn't trade it for the world

Even when my world seems to be falling down around me and in an instant it's gone when he says good morning

Even when I wake up everyday ready to face whatever I'm dreading just because I know In the end I'll see him

How can you still say it's not love when I cry because I know when he's hurting

Even when he's the first in my prayers

Even when I think about his future more than mine

Even when I've faced my own fear of losing love

Of losing him

You can no longer tell me it's not love

You no longer have that right

I know what love is

And love is him.
