What Is Love?

Dear The One Who Changed Me,

Once upon a time we had some “true” love
His eyes, his voice, his touch kept me going
I thought we fit like a hand in a glove
The truth is, with love, I was unknowing

But what partner sees a lethal affair?
Though love is patient, it is also blind
I thought I could find happiness somewhere
‘Course, I was oblivious to the signs

Feeling trapped, I took one, last breath as me
And shut myself away in a tight box
After 3 years, I wanted to be free
But was forced to slink around like a fox

Is this not what love is supposed to be?
Because if so, love may not be for me.
