What is Love?
Love,
What is love?
Is love a kiss from your mother as she lays you down to sleep.
Is it your mom making you soup when you`re in bed sick even though she`s tired and beat.
Is love the harsh words from your father when you’ve made a mistake.
Because you’re not applying yourself and he sees your potential to be great.
What is love?
Is Love- the little girls and boys at school calling you names?
Making you wish you were more like them, ultimately driving you insane.
Love?
Is it okay to use it to describes the nasty behavior between kids?
Or using love to justify it because it is what it is? What’s the phrase? Oh, that’s right -they`re just kids
Love?
Is Love – the big fight that you and your boyfriend had last night when he called you everything but your name.
Or the busted lip you have, and it’s not abuse because he was just mad, he`s sorry so it’s not the same.
Is love you taking responsibility for it because you pushed his buttons and went too far so you`re the one to blame.
Love?
What is Love?
Is Love- that alcohol bottle starring back at you on your dresser.
Is Love the feeling that it gives you because feeling drunk is better than feeling lesser - Than the person you’re trying so hard to be.
But not for yourself but for everyone else because pleasing everyone else is fine even if that means killing me-
Myself- and I- we no longer matter.
Cause love is the opinion of everyone else and their standards.
Self-love!
Just shattered.
Love?
What is love?
Is love- the strife between two resentful parents getting a divorce.
Or the suffering child torn between the two who is being forced -to make a decision that no child should ever have to bare.
Between the very two people on this earth who’s are supposed to care- more about them then the amount of income that they now have to share.
I provide way more for you how could you dare!
Love?
Isn`t love what this very country is built on?
Love for one another no matter sex, religion, shape, or color.
Love,
Equal rights for all, that’s what MLK dreamt on.
Love,
Is love the hate we speak to one another when our mindsets don’t add up or the trigger that’s pulled when a kid at school decided he`s had enough.
Love- is it the decision hashed out between a group of men who decided to take matters into their own hands.
Oh but, love- the thing that was clearly showed the day- that little black boy got tortured to death and then those men beat the case.
Love?
What is love?
Love-is it making someone feel less about themselves because you’re incomplete within.
So, you pull others down because that’s a lot easier then then taking the time to figure out where you need to begin- to not only be okay but to
Love?
What is love?
is it the cuts you make on your body when the pain has grown to strong the tears in your parents’ eyes when it’s to late the thoughts in your mother’s head, she felt that she knew all along
Love?
Is it what you feel inside when you feel you can`t go, on so you take all those pills because nothing can heal the hurt you feel inside
Love?
the thing on your mind when you’re about to take your life because you feel it’s the better choice.
Or is love the thing that’s sacrificed- because of that distinguished voice- in your head saying you’re doing this because you
Love,
your family and for them you’re better off gone at least that’s what you think so you convince your self that the actions you take outta pain are out of
Love,
Can,
Love- truly be the last thing on our minds.
Our- selfish behaviors and actions are what we hide behind.
Various- routes we can choose to take but instead.
Everlasting- pain is the road this world is choosing to tread.
