What makes the Sun curious
The Sun came to me and asked
"How is it, that when you are with him, your souls shine brighter than I?"
I tell her about the love he and I share.
How when he kisses me, I see sunflowers bloom
and he waters them with his kindness.
I tell her about the butterflies in my stomach that have his name written on their wings, and how they never cease to dance.
I tell her our love is the poem every poet wishes to write.
The following night I am visted by the moon
who had overheard my conversation with the sun.
The moon then asked
"What makes you know the love is true?"
I look around the stars surrounding the moon, the stars
that my lover was responsible for bringing out.
I know the moon wants to know how love made him do such a thing.
I answer with a simple statement, with a word that not all understand.
"It is unconditional."
That, is love at its purest.
That is what brings the stars out each night,
what bring the waves crashing to the shores.
Once the moon understood my answer, I bid farewell and go to who I love.
I go to the man who reminds me of what love is.
He tells me that
love is what inhlaes life, that love is the everlasting dream.
It is the space between us before we kiss, and the space between us after.
Love is what runs in our veins towards our hearts.
And that is what he and I have.
