what makes you flawless

if your hair is long,

thick, and your roots show themselves,

calling attention

if your eyesight is

terrible, making you hide

behind thick lenses

if you’re angry and

frustrated with yourself and

your snap decisions

if freckles mark your

face, body and soul, like how

stars paint outer space

if the bags under

your eyes cannot be covered

by your concealer

if the clothes you wear

have holes, rips or tears in them

small windows of flesh

if your nails are short

and stubby from years of you

anxiously biting

if your mind is plagued

with volatile thinking

never giving peace

if your grades make you

cringe and shudder, your parents

look disappointed

if your thighs are thick

your stomach protruding out

clothes feeling tighter

if your chest is as

flat as a plateau in the

Sahara desert

if your voice is high

like a little girl's, piercing

through endless silence

if you have acne

riddling your cheeks and chin

with red bumps and spots

if you hate yourself

and everything that makes you

who you are today

just remember that

having flaws is what makes you

so very flawless
