What matters to me?

No man is an island. No matter what physical, cultural, or religious boundaries that we fortify to separate ourselves from the nexus of our elemental whole, we are kindred spirits trapped in the man-made bubble of our own egos. You are important to me. What reason have I, a complete stranger with no earthly knowledge of your very existence, to say that you are important to me? The answer is simple; you areme. Do you not breathe the same air that I breathe or drink the same water that I drink? Are your cells not held together by the very molecular bonds that have allowed me to type this sentence? Does your heart not beat in the same rhythm as mine? Without you, there is no me. I am human, as you are. If you should cease to exist, would that not make me less of a human? The cyclical nature of our existence as a singular entity is what allows us to improve with each passage of life. This conviction is what allows me to live every single day of my life as if there is no tomorrow, because there isn't. Every day, I die, but every day, I am reborn. I am but a single person, but I am all of humanity simultaneously. Everyone is the same, and I care as much about you, or any other human-being, as I do myself. Without you, there is no me. Without the seed, there is no tree.
