What the Mind Do

Click, like an automatic switch

Thoughts slowly creeping its way out,

From the crevices of the brain.

The day has just begun.

You need to get ready for: school, work, the day

Glances at mirror

“Why do I look like this”?

“I hate my hair I hate my body”.

The day continues on

It’s time for lunch, oh yum!

Glances at stomach

“Maybe I should skip this meal”

Glances at other people

Other people from the magazines,

“Why can’t I look like them”

The day continues on

Deadlines, deadlines, deadlines

“why didn’t I do this early”

“Why am I such a procrastinator”

Anxiety, Stress and Thoughts

Oh so many Thoughts

But the day continues on

Time to get ready for bed

Glances at the clock

“3 a.m. already? Why can I not sleep”?

“what is wrong with me”?

“Why didn’t I eat today”?

“why do I hide my body”?

“why do I wear hats everyday”?

“Why can I not love myself”?

Click, like an automatic switch.

Preparing itself for a never ending cycle.

The day has ended.
