What a Morning

Dear hectic morning,

The alarm clock beeped loudly at a constant rate,

As if screaming, “Get up NOW, or you’re going to be late!”

I sighed and slowly opened my eyes, at least it was Friday.

The weekend was the only thing keeping me going.

I stretched and slowly got out of my bed,

My body still hadn’t woken, but I knew I needed to get dressed.

I looked in the mirror, scowling at my chaotic hair.

I’d managed to eat breakfast and brush my teeth.

I saw the bus coming, rushing out the front door,

And then i wondered if I’d forgotten my project in my top drawer.

Sincerely,

A distressed student
