What People Say

They say it's a language. But I can't speak it.

They say I can be in it. But I don't know where it is.

They say it can be amazing. But I don't know what that feels like.

They say for it to be healthy. But I've never tried it.

He says to trust him. But I read his phone.

He says to kiss him. But his lips have touched others.

He says to hold his hand. But they're cold to the touch.

He says to cuddle with him. But there's no more space.

She says to leave him. But I love him.

She says he's a liar. But I trust him.

She says he's stupid. But he's the smartest person I know.

She says to trust her. But I trust both of them.

I say to leave me. But he won't go.

I say to stop texting me. But he calls me.

I say to stop hugging me. But he kisses me.

I say to stop loving me. But he loves me.

I say I love you. He loves me too.
