What is this Place?

Al Qaeda, terrorists, and other killers Make our lives less soothing. Is this reality? Or are we in a horror movie? Boston Marathon bombings Shooting at the cops What is this world we live in? Will the crime ever stop? Obesity, cancer, unemployment Is sky high All of these problems, Causing people to die. If we make it to school, We think we are safe From the violence, terror, And harms of this place. We were safe for so long, Until Virginia Tech, MIT, and Sandy Hook All proved that wrong. Is it the video games? Are movies getting to our head? I can’t look in the newspaper Without seeing that someone’s dead A body found on a farm? If only I could find, A place free from harm. Nowhere is safe. What is this place?
