What is poetry?

What is poetry?

It is all that I can’t muster, think, speak.

There are no words that can describe the feelings I have and felt.

Words that only can be expressed in many other ways

It is an art but an art I can only create

It is a sport, a sport that I can play

It is a song. A song I can sing

It is a patient, a patient that needs help

It is a life, waiting to be lived

It is feeling, feelings that I can express

It is poetry. But it’s not.

Poetry isn’t art, poetry isn’t a sport, poetry isn’t a person, poetry isn’t life, and poetry isn’t feelings.

Poetry is what you want it to be.
