what is poetry?

what is poetry I ask is it the language that all colors speak, or the sun's first rays a baby's first cry, or moonlight walks on the beach, is it not just love itself? What is poetry I ask is the 2 am conversations, or the afternoon bike rides, is it a painters smile while gazing at art, or is it a mother's heart swelling with joy at the sight of a walking son Poetry is not just words on a paper but a way of life it is the pouring out of heart and soul its how with only a few words a poet can make you weep with sorrow, tremble with fear, bite your lips with anticipation, shed knowing tears, become giddy with joy, and proud to know that we humans have created a language with a nature so beautiful and diverse a language that touches the heart
