What Poetry Has Taught Me

Charles Jackson- Poem 117

Poetry, a word that brings up our feelings

Poetry, an action that opens the world to our minds

Poetry, its words surpasses our ceilings

Poetry, its meaning is crestled between the lines

It has taught me to believe in writing

It is the calling card for freedom

It is a synonym for exciting

It gives me power when I read them

Now when I write a poem, I feel invincible

Nothing gives me a greater feeling than this

Now when I read it aloud, I feel sensable

Nothing gives off a vibe so bliss

Poetry, a powerful weapon that has been used for centuries

Poetry, words on a piece paper that mean more than love

Poetry, oh how you give me the greatest memories

Poetry, what more can say than what I have said above?
