What Poetry Means To Me

Poetry gives me an outlet, a chance to shine. I'm not able to speak the words I write. The thoughts in my mind pours out in ink. My emotions, my feelings, and what I think. When I write, I need no disguise. I can be me, no deception, and no lies. My imagination runs free. I want the world to see that this is me. My creations stand before me. Poetry gives me a chance to believe. Poetry opens my eyes and makes me see what I can be. Poetry is what keeps me alive; the ability to be free. It's easier for me to write how I feel than to say how I feel. Poetry gives me a chance to heal. I shy away and hide from people. Giving me no voice to speak my mind. But whenever I write, poetry gives me a voice. I have the power to say what I want. Words are so strong. The way you put them together makes you feel invincible. Raw, fresh, and no filter. The one thing that keeps the world together, is that the love for poetry is universal.
