What Poetry Means to Me

Poetry is where my heart soars amongst the clouds of grace

and roams free in the forest of elegance.

Poetry is where my heart takes a break from the chains of hopelessness

and escapes the torturing pain of reality.

Poetry is where I slide down snowy mountains of words that give me

a feeling I will never forget.

Poetry is where little lockets are opened and inside lies hope for all those

that dance to the shutters of pain or sing to the beating drum of their tears.

To me, poetry is a lifeline that will never be framed to a screen.

I promise you,

it will never drone the shuttering sound you hear in hospitals that ring out the sign of death.
