What Poetry means to me
Poetry means, “freedom”
Freedom from constant thoughts that run through my head, leaving my mind undone
Poetry means, “expression”
Without defamation
Because everyone has a different interpretation
There are no conflictions within poetry
Because what one line means to you may not mean the same to me
As a poet, you set the pace
Writing every day and no experience goes to waste
Through the struggles of living can we only succeed
Because every teardrop is a lyric, a stance, a stanza to me
Becoming a poet helped me cope
Cope with the living
And cope with the dead
The ones that hurt
And the ones that have a permanent place to rest their heads
The feeling one gets when pen touches paper
Is the same feeling one gets when they see water turn into vapor
Later
But later never comes because the rhythmic pulse of the creativity that flow out of me
Cannot be tamed or a repeat
That pulse is the same one that inspires me to continue to write poetry.
