What poetry means to me

a way to express oneself a way to release organized thoughts a way to communicate with people if not to better communicate with one’s self a way to get over stress serving as a great activity in one’s leisure time a great homework assignment for people to learn about different subjects an inexpensive way to keep one way entertained without technology a gateway into some parts of the entertainment community a common link to myself and my peers a way to get to know more people a way to get accepted by more people because people only judge the words of the poem not the person that is reading it an object that is homemade and came from one’s heart an object that took time and great creativity to make an object that can only be shared by the brave and the courageous an object that can be worked upon during anytime of day in anyplace by any person of almost any age an object that represents diversity by all who write it, read it and share it towards others if not themselves
