What really matters?

Galatians 5:22-23 New English Translation (NET Bible)

22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law.

What really matters?

Are we in a parade of headlines or in a death march to doom?

Who are the spectators here always quietly observing?

Who now walks before me and who flies on a broom?

Are they the ones that follow me to be taught of self-serving?

The parade never stops, but at night it finds a place in hiding

The solemn drumbeat however never seems to lose its rhythm

Always adapting to the environment and in insecurity providing

The many artificial ways therein being formed by its own schism

When will this parade come to a halt and who will end this shuffle?

Is not there any link drawn somewhere in the quicksand of temporal?

Who will give the sign and who’ll distribute the faux-priceless trophies?

Will “The last really be the first”, to embrace peace in “The Eternal”?
