What Refused to Change

The reflection is wrong It shows things that aren’t there Figures standing where no one stays The glass does not correct itself Does not change for its mistake It holds the image as if it were real As if the souls were not departed As if absence never really formed It acts as if all is right As if the image is real But it can’t be For those people are gone To a place that does not lead back The mirror does not respond to this Does not adjust to what is certain Instead it hangs on by a thread A thin layer of glass and light Reflecting all what used to be right It does not decide to share It simply takes place where all can see The ghost of the past Remembering me
