What is School?

What is school?

When we were young, it was

a place of swings, coloring, and naps.

In elementary school, there was

 muitplication, no more napping, and

summer camps to look forward to.

When middle came,

all we wanted was to grow up,

 like the big kids!

But we were content with 9am days

 and Algebra.

Then high school came with transcripts,

 college, and boys.

Did we know our future?- We

 were judged if we didn't.

No longer was there mom and dad to hold your

hand, but rather appointments and jobs

that we had to deal with ourselves.

We weren't adults, but no longer kids.

It's funny becuase most highschoolers agree

that naptime needs to be a thing again!

Our school life is now college.

Many fret, some cry, and no one is prepared

 for the road ahead

Our future.

It seems scary and far away,

but hey didn't we use to say that about

 high school?

But we can do it. It won't be

 easy, but it will be

worth it in the future.
