What she doesn't see

She looks at me

I look at her

Does she see

That I recognize her

Beauty

That she is everything I wish I could be

That her smile lights up her face

That mine is dimmer than a grey crayon

Her personally it as beautiful as her appearance

While mine is so bland

One look from her eyes an you could melt

One look from mine and you turn away

Her skin; flawless

Her smile; bright

Her life; seemingly perfect ---

On the outside.

On the inside it's another story----

Her heart is broken

Her smile she hides behind

Her tears could fill the ocean

You would know this if you could see inside

Inside she hates herself

Hates her own smile

Her own laugh

Would rather be anyone else on earth but herself

She cries alone

But pretends to be ok

Her heart is continuously broken

But she continues on anyways

Her life is in pieces

Her world grey and dreary

Her hope is nonexistant

Her life so empty

Yet

One smile from her

Can make you feel great

Although on the inside

She knows her smile is fake

She'd do what it takes to help someone else

She would give her life

If it meant escaping this hell

This chaoitic place that people say is home

The only thing that awaits behind that door is misery and violence

But she pastes on a smile

And continues her day

Praying someone will see that she is faking

Hoping someone will care enough to know she is breaking

Wishing someone could love her and know she doesn't think she can make it

Another day in this place called home

Where each sunrise reminds her she is alone

Where each night brings hope that tomorrow she won't awaken

Where she cries herself to sleep

Completely shaken

She looks at herself in the mirror and seethes

She wishes deep down that she were pretty

She's self concious

Insecure Has low self esteem

And negative thoughts that destroy the person she hopes to be

She finds herself worthless

See's flaws other people say aren't there

She puts herself down daily

Because she doesn't feel worth it at all

Just another girl in her eyes

And that's all.

She stands beside any other girl and her mind starts to go

She compares her body with theirs

And feels utterly below

Their faces are gorgeous

Although their personalities can seem dim

All she wants

Is to be like them

Pretty

Wanted

Loved

Adored

Cherished

Respected

And treasured

So she dresses a little different the next day

Hoping to feel as pretty

As the other girls yesterday

She exposes some cleavage

Wears short skirts and tights

High heels and make up

To make herself appealing to the eye

What she doesn't know is she is gorgous the way she is

A natural beauty

With feminine features

Long legs

And pretty skin

There's no need for her to expose herself

Though if you said that

She wouldn't believe it

She see's herself as ugly

And not worth attention

But when other people see her

They see her smile

And the light in her eyes

They see how caring and kind she is

And how much she has come to mean in their lives

She doesnt need make up

Push up bras

Or heels

She is beautiful as she is

Not just on the outside

But inside as well

Her smile makes everyone's day

And her voice sounds like a chorus of angels

Her beauty is amazing

If only she knew it..

Now you'd never know any of this

If you weren't in her shoes

On the outside she seems happy

On the inside she's blue

Outside she smiles

While inside she dies

What a sad story about a teenage girl

Who lives to hide
