What They See vs. What I See
A killer is what the kids call me
A murderer is all they see
But they really don't see
How he raped and beat me
They don't see the tears
The weaps and bruises
The staples and stitches
The iron marks
The studs stuck in my back
Or the spots of burned skin
They didn't feel the frying pan
The knifes being thrown at me
The boiling hot water thrown on me
the iron sizzling on my arm
The belt being hammered into my back
Or the torture of so much more
All they see is a murderer
They don't see how it was self-defense
They don't see how I was looking for a way out
I didn't kill him purposely
All I did was retalliate
Why does everyone feel so much hate
I am not a murderer or killer
Just a battered woman who fought back
