What They Tell You is Not the Truth

They tell us one thing and let us believe another.

They say it will be ok and we believe it.

When your heart aches and you feel like there isn’t going to be a future.

They will tell you it’s just another bump in the road.

When you’re lied to and hurt, you’re told to stand back up, shake it off, and move on.

When they lead you on and then throw you to the dirt it takes all you have to stand back up, shake it off, and move on.

You don’t have to listen to this though.

None of this is true.

You’re aloud to hurt, to ache, to scream, to cry.

Don’t stand back up, shake it off, and try to move on because this is important.

It is important to that you feel this so that way one day you don’t make the same mistake.

Sure it may be another bump in the road, but it’s not a bump in the road that you have to speed over.

Don’t let them deceive you.

I am 18 years old and am a senior at LHS. My dream is to go to college and discover what the world has planned for me. I am going to go to Oregon State University and study Zoology then one day hopefully become a zookeeper or work at a big cat sanctuary.
