What We Are

The color of your skin Does not change the color of your heart. When you bleed alongside me There is no difference. We feel the same, The same anger and fear. The same. That is what we are. The color of my skin Does not change the color of my heart. When I bleed alongside you There is no difference. I live alongside you As a brother or a sister. Siblings. The same. That is what we are. We live as one Because we are one.

Wonderful poem! My favorite section is the first stanza, which you repeated later on. You also send a very strong message, about how we are all people, regardless of how we look on the outside, who deserve to be treated fairly. Have you ever written a Cinquain poem? I think it would be really cool if you extended the message of this poem by writing a longer version, or even making a video! Check out how and more in the "Resources" section.
