Poetry is an escape

A world with no bounds

It breaks the contorting chains of this oppressive world

It overcomes humanity and undercuts the fascists in this authoritarian society

Poetry bleeds our passions

Our desires

Our remorse

Our shame

These poetic devises cultivate our fears and joys

It buries itself within our very souls and gives us life

It hurts us

Yet we need it

It’s in us and around us
