What We Are Taught

we are taught to remove our individuality
because no one likes a weirdo
we are taught to mold ourselves to what other people want
because you'll never find someone who loves you for you
we are taught that being someone else
is better than being ourself,
after all, who would want you?
because in order to be happy,
you have to be perfect
and if you aren't perfect,
then you aren't worthy
of being loved
