What We Deserve
You don't deserve
to see the light in my eyes
when I get excited.
You don't deserve
to hear the joy in my voice
when I talk about something I love.
You don't deserve
to see me happy
because you are everything that's holding me back.
And I deserve
to be happy without you.

My twin sister and I are the youngest of 6 children and we have our own twin language. All of our other siblings are only half brothers and sisters but we consider them full siblings since we have grown up with them our whole lives and love them a lot. I have never written a lot of poetry but I have always loved and I am looking to expand my poetic experience. Any comments or suggestions are helpful and encouraged, Thanks!
