What we go through

Its so sad,

Society’s been engulfed with mental illnesses.

we’re dragged down by heart first,

We forget how to feel.

And next by our brain,

We forget how to think and function.

We’re forgotten as we lay down in bed,

too exhausted to move even a muscle.

They say we’re overreacting,

And that we don’t know true despair.

They call us names

“Attention seekers”

“Fake.”

Not knowing that the simple phrases reply

over and over again

In out tattered brains.

We’re left dangling on the edge of the cliff called life,

Gripping on with all of our might,

Hoping for help,

But there’s no one in sight.

They don’t realize,

Everyday we’re here,

Is a battle we fight.

Every last tick of a clock at midnight,

Is a victory bell.

But we’re still unsure if we’ll win

The war called life.

Winging each day,

Not sure of what’s next.

Our mistakes are how we learn,

But it’s also what’s killing us.

Every flaw someone points out,

Is another battle scar.

Every single let down,

Is a shot to our hearts.

We’re those lonely flowers,

That are last to bloom.

Being compared to others,

Only makes us feel gloom.

You give us a thousand things to do,

But moving on won’t happen so soon.

i’m sorry if I disappoint you,

Or make you feel blue.

But that’s nothing compared,

To the suffering we’ve been through.

From now on bite your tongue before you speak,

Because your words might be the last push someone needs.
