What We Have Become

Flowers wave in the distance

On top of the mighty hill

Its petals laugh at us

As the blood spatters

Shouts can be heard for miles in the distance

The angry war chants echo in my ear

For I wonder what the flowers see in us

Brave or foolish

Why are we to be so vain unlike the creatures in the forest

Can’t we be like the night sparking a sky

Its tranquil light could teach us a thing or two

Or the birds that soar in the sky

For do we see them killing over each other

War is the end of the line

Unless we want a picture painted of us all red
